Most food comes from the store. Before it was at the store, it probably came from a farm. Fruits and vegetables are grown in the ground, and animals are raised on a farm too.
If you don’t get food for a long time your stomach starts to growl and hurt. Sometimes you don’t have energy to do things. If it’s a really long time (weeks) you could die of starvation.
You need water and shelter to survive. All plants and animals on Earth need water to live and grow.
Wild animals can’t go to the store to get their food, so they must hunt for it or wander around to look for it. Wild animals eat plants or other animals.
If an animal can’t find food it could try moving to a new place to look for food. If they don’t find any food for a long time, they could die.

Porcupines eat leaves, bark and berries, which all come from plants. It is one of many animals that eats plants.
It uses its tongue to smell for food. It can use its tongue to figure out which direction the food is located. Savannah monitors like to eat bugs.
A monkey bangs the nut on a hard surface. After it cracks, the monkey can pull it apart with its hands. It can also use tools like a stone to smash the nut open.
A wolf eats other animals such as rabbits, deer or even sheep. A wolf is a meat eater and needs meat to live and grow.
Wolves hunt in a group which makes it easier to catch their food. They also use their great sense of sight and smell to find prey.
