You may have seen a dog feeding milk to its puppies, or a bird taking worms back to the nest to feed its chicks.
Animals can teach their babies how to find food. They also teach their babies about dangers such as predators. Beavers can show their babies how to build a beaver dam.
They might not survive, or they would have to figure out how to get food on their own. Some baby animals can survive without parents but it is much harder.
