Ask your learners how a professional soccer player curves a ball into the net during a corner kick without anyone else touching it. Write down what they say.
Most will tell you it’s just “luck,” “magic,” or “kicking it as hard as humanly possible.”

No time to prep? Here’s exactly what to do:
Minutes 1-5: Write a World Cup score on the board (like 3-2) and ask how many different ways those points could have been scored chronologically.

Minutes 16-20: For K-2 learners, have them sketch the different goal scenarios on the field. This could include players and positions they play. For 3-8 learners, sketch a soccer pitch and label three different geometric angles used during a corner kick.
