What is the difference between explicit information and an inference?

Level 2

Write one inference about the journal writer from the quote “Zip gives me the strength to go on.” Then quote one sentence or part of a sentence that supports your inference.

Level 3

A text includes a bold date and an underlined phrase. Explain how those text features could help readers form an inference. Include one example of an inference and explain how you would use evidence from the text to support it.
